Meghmani to put up new HPP plant
PM News Bureau
Ahmedabad-based Meghmani Organics, a leading global player in
the manufacture and marketing of pigments, agrochemicals and specialty
chemicals, is setting up a new high performance pigment (HPP) plant at its Vatva
site that will include a pilot plant and research and development centre. The
total cost of the project is Rs 14.52 crore.
The factory building will come up on 2,130 sq. metres of land adjacent to the
existing facility. The total built-up area of the civil works comprising the
pilot plant building, R&D building, effluent treatment plant, tank farm and
production shed is estimated to cost Rs 1.3 crore. Civil works will be completed
by June 2007 and commercial production is expected to start by October.
The company recently acquired Agronule Industries from Glenmark Pharmaceuticals
which used to manufacture formulation of agrochemicals. Meghmani intends to use
the Agronule facility to set up a multi-purpose plant to manufacture technical
grade pesticides and formulations. The estimated cost for setting up of this
facility is Rs 11.42 crore. Civil works and modifications to existing structure
will be completed by December 2007. Commercial production will start from April
2008.
Meghmani Organics is also planning to establish a captive power unit at its
exiting unit at Chharodi. The power plant may be implemented either in Meghmani
or a special purpose vehicle may be floated for the purpose. The CPP would be
mainly used to meet the power requirements of the Chharodi unit. The total cost
of the project is estimated at Rs 14.41 crore. The company is in the process of
identifying a suitable plot of land for the project. Commercial operation is
scheduled to commence by April 2008.
