Building systems for hilly terrain

Shakti S. Singh

Reliance Building Systems Pvt. Ltd is a complete panel system (Endura) specially designed for fast construction of residential, commercial and industrial structures in all climates and terrains. Amit Vashishta, Executive Director, said that his company's product was "an attractive, cost-effective and energy-efficient alternative" to conventional constructions. These lightweight panels are a seven-layered system using specially formulated composite resins in combination with galvanised steel and expanded polystyrene.
According to Vashishta, Reliance Building Systems complies with all standard building regulations with regard to structural loading, fire and weather resistance, health and safety norms, chemical resistance, insulation, thermal and sound, and maintenance.
The company has executed various defence and civil township projects in hilly terrain. Some of the major ongoing projects are: Supply and erection of prefabricated insulated offices and residence shelters for IAF station at Awantipur; and, for NHPC, a double-storey residential accommodation at Sainj block-II for Parbati hydroelectric project, a prefabricated office complex at Karian site, and supply and erection of prefab system for Teesta Stage V at Singtan, East Sikkim. The company also plans to export its building systems to the Far East.
Reliance Building Systems claims to reduce labour. Their precision cut surfaces require less finishing materials. Higher speed of construction means faster returns on investments and lower impact of cost escalations. All of which add up to substantial savings.
