The 39-km road from Vadakkencher to Govindapuram (Kerala-Tamil Nadu border) is the shortest route to Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, a market place and the way to the famous Madura Meenakshy temple. Traffic on this road is very heavy. The Kerala government has proposed to widen this to 7 m carriageway and also strengthen the existing crust by providing 50 mm BM and 25 mm BC.
