L&T-ECC to build coal-handling plant for NTPC

L&T-ECC, the engineering and construction major, has been recently awarded projects worth Rs 1,048 crore.
The company has won a combined order valued at Rs 403 from National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd for a 3x600 mw coal-handling plant. The plant will be located at NTPC's Barh Super Thermal Power Station near Patna, Bihar. The Barh coal-handling plant is a greenfield project and will be completed within 43 months. The EPC contract includes design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the coal-handling plant. It also includes civil structural, electrical and instrumentation work. The company is also doing a wagon tippler for NTPC at Farakka.
L&T-ECC has also bagged a contract worth Rs 482 crore for Bisalpur-Jaipur water line project. The company has been given the contract for the ADB & JBIC funded 106-km water supply line from Bisalpur dam to Jaipur city in Rajasthan, to be completed in 30 months. L&T will also maintain the system for five years after completion. The project is expected to cater to a projected population of 50 lakh in 2021.
