Chhattisgarh-based Vandana Vidhyut is expected to sign a power purchase agreement by mid-January 2007 for its 12-mw waste-based power plant in the state. The Rs 50 crore rice husk-based project is shaping up on 20 acres of land in Sirgitti Industrial Area in Bilaspur district.
Land acquisition, currently under way, is expected to complete by end-January 2007. The company is in the process of finalising consultants for the project.
Vandana Vidhyut is part of the Vandana Group that has interests in manufacturing high tensile steel and galvanised iron wires.
