Gupta Synthetics to diversify

Gupta Synthetics Ltd, a leading player in the synthetic yarn industry, has planned a diversification project entailing an investment of Rs 223 crore. The company is planning to manufacture nylon tyre cord fabric (NTCF) and nylon filament yarn (NFY) used by tyre, textile and furnishing industries. The project will come up at the company's Silvassa unit.
Both the NFY and NTCF units will have an installed capacity of 8,128 tpa each. While the NFY unit is expected to start from October 2007, the NTCF unit will be commissioned from March 2008. The NFY unit will be sourced from Japan-based TMT Machinery, and the NTCF technology and machinery from Zimmer AG, Germany.
Weaving and cable cording operations of the nylon tyre cord fabric unit is eligible for interest subsidy of five per cent, on term loans under the TUF scheme of the ministry of textiles.
