MJCC sealant for Sahar and Jaipur airports
Poonam Singh
M.J. Construction Chemicals, a Mumbai-based company, has
bagged the supply of sealant for Sahar International Airport, Mumbai, and Jaipur
airport. The sealant supplied is being used on trail basis. "With the real
estate boom and development of airports, ports, freight corridors, power and
other infrastructure sectors, demand for construction chemicals will increase
directly and indirectly. We are certainly looking forward to be a part of this
growth," said Hakim Jawadwala, Director.
The construction chemical market is growing at 20 per cent annually and total
turnover including the organised and unorganised sector is Rs1,000 crore. Though
there are opportunities all around, certain flaws are not attributing to
rationalisation of taxes and fluctuations in raw material prices such as cement
and sand. "Constant fluctuation of prices should be dealt with properly.
Government should adopt uniform tax regime which will boost the growth of the
industry," he pointed out.
MJCC is a producers of specialty construction chemicals such as concrete and
mortar admixture, cementitious grouts, epoxy resin-based and polyster
resin-based anchor grouts, bonding agents, waterproofing systems, flooring
solutions, repair and retrofitting agents, protective coatings, tile adhesives,
sealants, etc. By adding new products like Superplast R, Ultra Hyproof, MJ
Plast-1W, Cryst-Seal and other products in the making, MJCC's product list will
shoot up from 132 to 165.
The company now has two plants, one each in Uttaranchal and Hosur, which will
soon start production. The existing capacity utilisation company is 100 per cent
and the turnover of the company is rising at 600 to 700 per cent every year. The
firm is associated with builders such as Hiranandani, Oberoi and Nahar. Some of
its clients include RBI, ONGC and Indian Railways.
