Bangalore-based Page Industries Ltd is setting up a new garment manufacturing facility on a 98,500 sq. ft plot of land owned by the company at site No.13-A Bommasandra Industrial Area. The project is estimated to cost Rs 15.21 crore. Work on the project has commenced and the company hopes to start commercial production by May 2008.
The company also plans to increase the manufacturing capacity of elastic by adding six looms at its existing facility at Bommanahalli near Bangalore, taking the total installed capacity to 60 lakh metres per annum. The project, slated to cost Rs 0.58 crore, will be completed by June 2007.
In addition, the company intends to expand its current garment manufacturing capacity of 33 million pieces per annum by installing new sewing machines. For this purpose the company has acquired additional floors in existing buildings at Abbaiah Reddy Industrial Area, Bangalore. Post-expansion, the capacity will increase to 47 million pieces per annum.
Further, Page Industries Ltd is planning to increase the capacity of 504,000 pairs of socks per annum to 1,176,000 pairs per annum, by adding eight knitting machines at its facility at Bommanahalli. The Rs 1.07 crore project is expected to be completed by June this year.
The company is also on the lookout for a new corporate office. The company proposes to buy new office space admeasuring approximately 6,000 sq. ft in a central location in Bangalore at an estimated cost of Rs 7.5 crore. The company has shortlisted some properties and is in the process of negotiating with the builders.
