Kalyani Lemmerz Ltd will build a new plant next to its existing commercial vehicle steel wheel facility at Chakan near Pune. The plant, which will manufacture passenger car steel wheels, is expected to begin production in October 2008. The new facility will support 2,000,000 steel wheels per year with a capacity to increase production to 4,000,000 units in future.
Recently, Kalyani Lemmerz completed the expansion of its state-of-the-art commercial vehicle steel wheel facility, bringing annual capacity to 800,000. Kalyani Lemmerz expects to add 200,000 units of capacity in coming months, taking the total annual capacity to 1,000,000 units.
