TWO WELLS IN KG-D6 BLOCK

Reliance Industries Ltd has completed drilling of two wells -- KG-D6-AA1 and KG-D6-Q1 -- in deepwater block KG-D6 in the current quarter. The drilling of the well, KG-D6-P2, is currently in progress.
Further, as part of the company's KG-D6 development programme in Andhra Pradesh, three additional development wells -- A9, A16 and B13 -- have recently been drilled.
"These wells have reaffirmed our reserve expectations from Dhirubhai 1 and 3 (blocks). Orders have been placed for well completion equipment and services," the company statement said.
The company's development of gas discoveries in both Dhirubhai 1 and 3 is on schedule for productiion and supply of gas by 2008 and all key contracts have been awarded.
The pre-engineering survey for offshore installation, as well as construction of the jetty, has been completed, while detailed engineering of the onshore terminal is nearly 50 per cent complete.
In its MA-2 well, the thickest hydrocarbon column discovered to date in D6 has been encountered, the company said, adding "fast-track development of KG-D6-MA cretaceous oil discovery has been planned for production to be on-stream during 2008."  —PTI
