NTPC Ltd proposes to expand the capacity of its existing Simhadri Thermal Power Project (2x500 mw) by 1,000 mw in stage-II. A feasibility report for this plant has been finalised at an estimated project cost of Rs 4,844.40 crore. This was disclosed by Union Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde in Lok Sabha recently.
Various input tie-ups and clearances including environment clearance from the ministry of environment & forests being processed.
