Kanpur Plastipack set to modernise

Kanpur Plastipack, a Kanpur-based company engaged in HDPE woven sacks and fabrics, intends to increase its installed capacity from 6,000 mtpa to 10,000 mtpa. The company also plans to replace some of its existing machinery with modern machinery to increase the productivity, reduce waste and cut production costs, resulting in better profitability. The project is estimated to cost Rs 20.5 crore.
The company has entered into an MoU to purchase additional land bearing Plot Nos.A-1 & A-2, Panki Industrial Area, Site V, Udyog kunj, Kanpur, on lease from UPSIDC, measuring about 16,357 sq. metres. The modernisation programme will be completed by October 2007. By then the company hopes to commence partial production in its new factory building. Full-fledged production will start from April 2008 onwards. The company is planning to come out with a rights issue to part finance the project cost. l
