Aluminium roofing sheets
One of the innovative products by Hindalco is its aluminium
roofing sheet. The long-term economy perspective is motivating people to look
for better building material alternatives. The changing consumer needs and
long-term economy has made Indian businessmen, industrialists, architects,
builders to look for better alternatives for roofing and siding.
The company manufactures high performance, superior quality, aluminium building
sheets branded 'Everlast.' The company uses state-of-the-art computerised single
station roll forming equipment for the process. Tension leveled coils are
supplied from its rolling mill to roll forming facilities which pass through
additional levelling equipment during the roll forming process and produce the
highest quality building sheets.
The building sheets are manufactured out of the best suitable grade alloy AA3105
and AA8011. "This alloy composition is designed for special applications like
roofing and sliding sheets for industries, factory sheds, warehouses, poultry
forms and all over Indian housing in high rain intensity and humid areas of
Indian coastal belt and have undergone various application tests," says Jagdish
Anne. Apart from being inherently fire, moisture and insect resistant, the
resulting houses are durable, cost-effective and maintenance-free. The walls of
a house can be built with vertical Everlast sheets.
The aluminium roofing sheets with advantages, such as high strength and low
maintenance, assure an extended service life to houses, while offering indirect
resistance to corrosion induced by moisture and damage due to insects and
vandals, thus minimising maintenance costs.
The roofing sheets are available in two profiles—Circular corrugated and
Troughed. Both these are used chiefly for roofing and cladding of industrial,
commercial, residential and agricultural structures. The application of the
sheets can be extended to industrial sheds, godowns, conveyor gantries, indoor
stadiums, residential houses, market complexes and many more areas. These sheets
are also available in two finishes—plain mill finish and stucco. The special
attributes and properties of Everlast aluminium roofing sheets are: Durability,
corrosion resistance, low weight, wind resistance, condensation, acoustic, etc.
Aluminium being a good conductor of heat has a high reflectivity value of
radiant heat and light (75-80% when new and 60% after several years). This helps
keep the interiors of an aluminium building 5°-8°C cooler in summer. Similarly,
its low heat emission property cuts heat loss in winter, saving on additional
costs of thermal insulation. In addition to its superior features, Everlast
aluminium roofing sheets have wide range of applications in industrial,
commercial and residential sectors.
