Prozop to make solar air-conditioners in India
ProjectsToday
Prozop-Solar, Germany, is planning to set up a plant in India
to manufacture solar air-conditioners. The company has indicated that a minimum
investment of €3 million would be required to for this plant. Prozop feels that
the manufacturing cost of a solar air-conditioner would be much lower in India
(at around €6,000) compared with €10,000 in Europe.
On the other hand, another German-based renewable energy company, Q-Cells AG,
has dropped plans to set up manufacturing operations in India. Confirming the
development, Stefan Dietrich, a company spokesperson, told ProjectsToday that
Q-Cells at one point had India in its list of possible production sites but has
dropped the plan for now.
