Acquisition of land for national highways

NH-57, Muzaffarpur-Purnea section, Supaul district, Bihar:
Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of
Shipping, Road Transport and Highways (Department of Road Transport and
Highways), No. S.O.749 (E), dated May 11, 2007, published in the Gazette of
India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) and issued under
Sub-section (1) of Section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956)
(hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its
intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said
notification for building (widening), maintenance, management and operation of
National Highway No.57 on the stretch of land from km 0.000 to km 310.000 (Muzaffarpur-Purnea
section) in Supaul district in Bihar;
And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in
'Hindustan Times' dated June 1, 2007, under Sub-section (3) of Section 3A of the
said Act;
And whereas objections have been received and the same have been considered and
disallowed by the competent authority;
And whereas, in pursuance of Sub-section (1) of Section 3D of the said Act, the
competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government;
Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and
in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 3D of the said
Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the
Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

NH-21, Kurali-Kiratpur section, Roopnagar district, Punjab: In exercise of the
powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 3A of the National Highways Act,
1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central
Government, after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, the
brief description of which is given in the Schedule below, is required for
building, widening (four-laning etc.), maintenance, management and operation of
National Highway No.21, on the stretch of land from km 32.250 to km 66.250 (Kurali-Kiratpur
section) in Roopnagar district in Punjab, hereby declares its intention to
acquire such land.
Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date
of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use
of such land for the aforesaid purpose under Sub-section (1) of Section 3C of
the said Act.

NH-22, Zirakpur-Parwanoo section, Panchkula district, Haryana: Whereas by the
notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Shipping, Road
Transport and Highways (Department of Road Transport and Highways), No.S.O.
85(E), dated January 25, 2007, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary,
Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) and issued under Sub-section (1) of Section
3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as
the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land
specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for building
(widening/four-laning etc.), maintenance, management and operation of National
Highway No.22 on the stretch of land from km 42.000 to km 62.961 (Zirakpur-Parwanoo
section, including Pinjore-Kalka-Parwanoo bypass), in Panchkula district,
Haryana;
And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in 'Amar
Ujala' dated March 2, 2007, in Hindi and in 'The Indian Express' dated March 3,
2007, in English under Sub-section (3) of Section 3A of the said Act;
And whereas 248 objections have been received and the same have been considered
and disallowed by the competent authority;
And whereas, in pursuance of Sub-section (1) of Section 3D of the said Act, the
competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government;
Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and
in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 3D of the said
Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the said
Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

NH-6: Sambalpur-Raipur section, Raipur district, Chhattisgarh: In exercise of
the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 3A of the National Highways
Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central
Government, after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, the
brief description of which is given in the Schedule, is required for building
(widening), maintenance, management and operation of National Highway No.6,
including construction of bypasses, on the stretch of land from km 239.000 to km
282.000 (Sambalpur-Raipur section) in Raipur district, Chhattisgarh, hereby
declares its intention to acquire such land.
Any person interested in the said land may, within 21 days from the date of
publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of
such land for the aforesaid purpose under Sub-section (1) of Section 3C of the
said Act.

NH-25, Orai-Bhognipur section, and NH-2, Bhognipur-Bara section, Kanpur Dehat
district, Uttar Pradesh: In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1)
of Section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that
for the public purpose, the land, the brief description of which is given in the
Schedule, is required for building (widening/four-laning, etc), maintenance,
management and operation of National Highway No.25 on the stretch of land from
km 245.000 to km 255.500 (Orai-Bhognipur section) and National Highway No.2 on
the stretch of land from km 421.500 to km 499.000 (Bhognipur-Bara section) in
Kanpur Dehat district, Uttar Pradesh, hereby declares its intention to acquire
such land.
Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date
of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use
of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section (1) of section 3C of
the said Act.

NH-4 in Chennai and Thiruvallur districts, amil Nadu: In exercise of the powers
conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956
(48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government,
after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, the brief
description of which is given in the Schedule below, is required for building
(widening/four-laning etc) of National Highway No.4 in Koyambedu, Nerkundra and
Maduravoyal villages in Ambathur and Egmore Nungambakkam taluks, Chennai and
Thiruvallur districts, Tamil Nadu, hereby declares its intention to acquire such
land;
Any person interested in the said land may, within 21 days from the date of
publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of
such land for the aforesaid purpose under Sub-section (1) of Section 3C of the
said Act;

NH-8, Vadodara-Surat section, Vadodara district, Gujarat: Whereas, by the
notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Shipping, Road
Transport and Highways (Department of Road Transport and Highways),
No.S.O.795(E), dated May 23, 2007, published in the Gazette of India,
Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3. Sub-section (ii) and issued under Sub-section
(1) of section 3A of the National highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to
acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for
building (six-laning), maintenance, management and operation of National Highway
No.8 on the stretch of land from km 108.000 to km 173.350 (Vadodara-Surat
section) in Vadodara district, Gujarat;
And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in 'The
Indian Express' and 'Sandesh', both dated the June 13, 2007, under Sub-section
(3) of Section 3A of the said Act;
And, whereas, objections have been received and the same have been considered
and disallowed by the competent authority;
Now therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in
exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 3D of the said
Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the said
Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

User Fees on NH-9 in Medak district
In exercise of powers conferred by Sections 7 and 8A of the National Highways
Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) the Central Government hereby notifies that there shall
be levied and paid fees on mechanical vehicles, for the use of the "Four laning
of Pune-Hyderabad road (National Highway No.9) from km 493/000 to km 524/000, in
Medak district, in Andhra Pradesh" (hereinafter referred as project) at the
rates specified in the Schedule and having regard to the concession agreement
dated December 22, 2005, entered into with Progressive Constructions Ltd having
its registered office at 7th Floor, Raghava North Block, Raghava Ratna Towers,
Chirag Ali lane, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh 500001, to build, operate and
transfer the "Four laning of Pune-Hyderabad road (National Highway No.9) from km
493/000 to km 524/000" and for service provided by it and hereby authorise the
said Progressive Constructions Ltd or its authorised legal representative to
collect and retain the fees on mechanical vehicles at the rates specified in the
said Schedule from the Commercial Operation Date (COD) and until August 17, 2017
(last day of the concession period).
