Flight academy in Hyderabad

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd, a subsidiary of GMR
Infrastructure Ltd, has signed an MoU with Sabena Flight Academy, a global
leading independent flight academy based in Brussels, Belgium, for setting up an
international aviation academy.
GHIAL is racing ahead with the development of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport
in Shamshabad. Accordingly, the new JV company will set up the modern aviation
academy at RGI Airport, Hyderabad, by January 2009. It will offer complete
training packages for aviation related activites covering pilot and cabin crew
training, engine engineers, technicians and aviation consultants. Training for
airport operations staff will also be provided.
More than Rs 450 crore (Euro 80 million) will be invested over the next three
years covering infrastructure including accommodation for over 200 trainees per
year, six full flight simulators, cabin trainers and engineering tooling.
The partnership between both companies is based on the expertise of Sabena
Flight Academy and associated partners such as CFM, Sabena Technics and Flight
Care, and on the strong market position of GMR group in India.
