Pilkington Automotive is scheduled to commission phase-I of its automotive glass units in Visakhapatnam by November. Coming up in Atchuthapuram special economic zone, phase-I of the unit will produce 5 lakh windscreens per year, with a total investment of Rs 80 crore.
The company has planned to scale up the investment by Rs 120 crore and Rs 500 crore, in the two subsequent phases. Production from the first two phases will be primarily exported while the third phase would cater to the domestic market.
