Kribhco to de-bottleneck Hazira plants
Krishak Bharati Cooperative Ltd has completed pre-project
activities and studies to identify bottlenecks in the revamp project of its
ammonia urea plants at Hazira complex in Gujarat. Kribhco has sought environment
clearance from the ministry of environment and forests.
According to officials, Kribhco has awarded the contract for preparation of
detailed project report to Projects Development India Ltd at an investment
outlay of Rs 1.5 crore, and is expected to receive the DPR soon.
Meanwhile, the Kribhco board has approved the proposal for basic engineering
design by KBR for the ammonia plants irrespective of the policy announced by the government. It has also approved the
preparation of process design package by Snamprogetti for the urea plants after
getting the final revamp study report.
As part of the Hazira expansion, Kribhco also proposes to set up an ammonia-urea
fertiliser project at the existing site of the complex, consisting of 1,850 mtpd
ammonia and 3,250 mtpd urea capacities. An amount of Rs 600 crore has been
allocated for this.
