Gail to commission new pipeline on time

Pragnya Pandey

Gail (India) Ltd is evaluating three offers it has received for the tender for a topographical and geotechnical survey for the Jhabua and Vijaipur compressor stations, as part of its Vijaipur-Dadri-Bawana pipeline project.
Bids are also under evaluation for a tender for coated pipeline, pipeline ball valve, centrifugal compressor, pipeline laying and associated works for the Dadri-Bawana section of the pipeline.
According to sources, the Rs 4,000-crore Vijaipur-Dadri-Bawana pipeline project is moving ahead at a steady pace, and is targeted for completion January 2010 and commissioning by the end of March 2010.
The gas major has initiated a number of activities to meet the completion deadline. For instance, the piping and instrument diagrams have reportedly been issued for the compressor stations in Jhabua and Vijaipur, as also the process data sheet for a compressor and after-coolers at Vijaipur.
