Indian Oil Corporation Ltd is doing its best to ensure the implementation of the Rs 14,438-crore Panipat naphtha cracker project by January 2010. According to reports, IOCL is pushing contractors for expeditious completion of various engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning packages of the petrochemicals project under a catch-up plan it has prepared to overcome construction shortfalls through mobilisation of additional agencies.
The project has already witnessed a two-month delay over its original completion deadline of November 2009 due to the slow rate of progress of overall construction work.
