Around 85 per cent of work on a 22.5-mw hydel power plant on Bhilangana river in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand is complete. The run-of-river project is being developed by Swasti Power Engineering Ltd of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Full project completion expected by June this year.
The project, estimated to cost Rs 118 crore, is being implemented in three units of 7.50 mw each. IVRCL is the contractor and VA Tech Escher Wyss Flovel Ltd, Faridabad, Haryana, has been awarded the hydro-mechanical package.
Meanwhile, the detailed project report for Bhoruka Energy's 300-mw thermal-based power unit in Belgaum district of Karnataka is under way.
