KEC International wins PGCIL order

A Business Correspondent

KEC International Ltd has won a contract worth Rs 111.41 crore from national utility Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd for supply of 400kV transmission lines on turnkey basis. These contracts are for supply of towers, line materials, erection and commissioning of transmission lines. The lines are: 400kV Biharsariff-Koderma, 400kV Maithon RB to Maithon and 400kV Jamsedpur-Maithon. These lines totalling 160 km are spread over Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal, and are associated with power projects of Damodar Valley Corporation and its joint venture with Tata Power Company Ltd, namely Maithon Power Company Ltd.
The order breaks the lull in domestic orders for KEC International last year, Ramesh Chandak, MD & CEO, KEC International, said in a company statement.
