Aban Offshore Ltd has received a letter of intent from a Malaysian operator for the deployment of an offshore jackup rig, Deep Driller 2. The contract worth $17 million (Rs 73 crore) is a seamless continuation of the existing contract and is expected to take effect next month. Aban Offshore has also received a similar letter of intent from another Malaysian operator for the same rig. The 210-day contract is valued at $38 million (Rs 163 crore).
