Ahmedabad-based Sadbhav Engineering Ltd has been awarded a Rs 268.34-crore order by Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd for lignite mining. The seven-year contract involves removal of over-burden of 44.40 million cubic metres and extraction (mining) of 4.68 million tonnes of lignite.
Sadbhav will provide heavy earthmoving equipment with operators, maintenance staff and facilities for the project that will be implemented at GIPCL's Mangrol lignite mines in Surat district. In the past, Sadbhav has undertaken significant lignite mining work for GIPCL's Vastan lignite mines in the same district.
