Advantage Organic Natural Technologies Pvt. Ltd, a manufacturer of organic garments and skin and body care products, is planning to establish manufacturing facilities in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Interacting with Projectmonitor, Rajiv Rai Sachdev, Managing Director, said that the company was setting up 'Meditek' garments manufacturing unit at Kandaghat in Solan district of Himachal. The project has been approved under single window clearance policy of the state government and 16000m2 of land has been allotted. Construction work will begin in February and the facility is likely to commence production in September 2009, he said.
Explaining the concept of 'Meditek' garments, Sachdev noted that they were 100 per cent organic/natural garments with wellness properties. The garments are coated with various herbs with medicinal and aromatic properties, healing crystals and natural bioengineering extracts. The garments will be very beneficial in case of infection or allergies, and even otherwise as they have anti-microbial, anti-allergic and moisture retaining capacity. AONTL, under the brand name 'Joy of Life', is exploring the concept for the first time in India and has obtained patent for the product.
Advantage Organic is also establishing a production unit with an R&D centre in the biotechnology park at Chopanki (Bhiwadi) in Rajasthan. The plant will come up on 6000m2 of land already allotted by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Ltd. It will produce 'Meditek' garments and also develop organic herbal hair colours, skincare and body care products.
The project will require an investment of Rs 42.5 crore in stage-I and could touch Rs 500 crore in stage-II in a span of three years. Funds will be arranged through equity and debt.
AONTL has inbuilt clean development mechanisms that are 100 per cent natural, eco-friendly, save lot of water, electricity and energy vis-à-vis conventional textile processing methods and will earn carbon credits for the same.
