An international convention centre will be established at Devenahalli near Bengaluru International Airport. Interacting with Projectmonitor, a senior official from Karnataka Tourism, the nodal agency, informed that the centre would come up on BOT basis on a 36-acre plot already handed over to the private developer - a consortium led by Soma Enterprise Ltd.
Construction work is likely to commence in the next two months, and the project is to be executed in three years of signing the agreement, he noted.
Expected to cost Rs 1,050 crore, the facility will have a mega auditorium with seating capacity for 6,000 persons, 20,000 sq. ft exhibition hall, 5-star and 3-star hotels, and shopping and recreation centres.
