Siemens arm sets up first graphics engineering centre

Siemens Building Technologies Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of
Siemens Ltd, has set up its first Graphics and Engineering Centre of Competence
in India, at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The new centre will provide engineering, design, software configuration and
graphics development services that will be delivered remotely for building
automation projects of building technologies in domestic as well as Asia-Pacific
markets.
Addressing a press conference in Chennai, Anand Mecheri, CEO & MD, SBTPL, said,
"The centre will serve as a hub that addresses unique requirements of the
building technologies division in both domestic and international markets.
Commenting on setting up of the centre in India, Andreas Schierenbeck, CEO,
Building Automation Business Unit of the Building Technologies Division, said,
"India emerged as a preferred destination for setting up the centre; principally
because of its inherent strengths including talented manpower and an efficient
cost proposition. Our aim is to build a world-class engineering development
centre that will own and drive outstanding engineering developments for the
building automation and management systems."
