Tata Metaliks to expand capacity

By A Special Correspondent

Tata Metaliks is considering expanding its pig iron capacity from 130,000 tonnes per annum to 250,000 tonnes per annum at its plant in Kharagpur. This could include introducing an oxygen enrichment plant or installing a second-hand blast furnace.

According to the Harsh Kumar, Vice-President (Marketing), "It's only by October 2001 that we will firm up our cost estimates and finalise the detailed project report. We will be going ahead with our plans only after the DPR is ready."
