The earthmoving equipment division of Caterpillar India Pvt. Ltd has been a pioneer in the Indian mining and construction machinery industry since 1969. Caterpillar India manufactures a range of world-class earthmoving equipment comprising dumpers, front-end loaders, backhoe loaders, crawler tractors and hydraulic excavators. Earlier, Caterpillar India (formerly part of the earthmoving equipment division of Hindustan Motors Ltd) was doing all its product design work using manual methods. However, due to increasing market pressures to deliver innovative products to the Indian customers, Caterpillar India was forced to implement an integrated CAD/CAM/CAE solution to remain competitive.
