Atlas Copco launches oil-free VSD compressors
Atlas Copco has launched two new VSD compressors designed to deliver 100 per cent oil-free air at the lowest possible production running cost.
The ZT 37 VSD is a compact, fully integrated, air-cooled, oil-free rotary tooth compressor capable, at a minimum motor speed of 2,200 rpm, of delivering 83 cfm (39 l/s) of quality air at 7 bar(e) working pressure. This output is increased to 185 cfm (87 l/s) at the maximum output speed of 4,122 rpm. The compressor's sound modulated canopy and small footprint make it an ideal unit for siting within the production environment.
The larger capacity oil-free machine is the ZR 315 VSD water-cooled, rotary screw compressor. Skid mounted, fully silenced and featuring a high efficiency, power-saving cooling system, it operates either as a base load or top load unit. The ZR 315 VSD is available either as a 7.5 bar(e) package delivering 1727 cfm (815 l/s) or as a 10 bar(e) version producing 1581 cfm (746 l/s).
