Now, you can play in snow in Hyderabad!

By A Business Correspondent

Come Christmas and citizens of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad will be able to play in snow and even make snowballs, thanks to the Maya Bazaar project comprising a snow park and a hi-tech entertainment complex. The Rs 20-crore project is scheduled for completion by this year-end.

Ocean Park Multi-tech Ltd is setting up the snow park in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation on a two-acre plot near Indira Park, Hyderabad. It will have a Cryozone (world's first snow theme park), interactive robots (talking and walking), journey to the centre of earth (dark ride), a drive-in restaurant designed by architect Nitisy Roy, bumper car and merry-go-round among other facilities.

Besides artificially produced snow, using state-of-the-art technology supplied by the Netherlands-based Unlimited Snow Company, the snow park will also have alpine environs, all with huts, trees and animals, and a blue sky. The temperature will be between -2 degrees and 6 degrees.

According to K. Srinivas Gupta, Managing Director, Ocean Park Multi-tech Ltd, "It is as good as being in Switzerland at a fraction of the cost. This is first of its kind leisure snow park and hi-tech entertainment in the world." Gupta said the entrance fee would be around Rs 200 per head, which would include a welcome soup or coffee, warm clothing, gloves, hat and snow boots.
