Go-ahead for Howrah flyover

By A Business Correspondent

The South Eastern Railway has given the nod for the Ramrajatal flyover in Howrah in Kolkata. While the Government of West Bengal will provide Rs 7.93 crore, South Eastern Railway has agreed to contribute Rs 7.43 crore towards the project. The flyover will be constructed on BOLT basis. A committee has been set up to finalise the modalities of BOLT.

The idea of constructing the flyover was mooted in 1987 but the project failed to take off due to delays in getting approval from the Railways.
