The Chittorgarh-Udaipur section is common to GQ NH-8 and East-West Corridor NH-76. Work on the four laning of this section across 106.175 km has been taken up in two parts under GQ itself. One is the 48-km stretch to Mangalwar from km 172-220. This contract was given to Madhucon-Binapuri (JV) while the second 58.175-km stretch has been given to Sadhav-Prakash (JV) for Rs 146.35 crore. Both roads will be ready by March 2004. A total of Rs 39.09 crore has been spent on the sections so far.
Locations and details of bypasses for NH-76 development will be finalised after the feasibility studies for the portions are carried out. The total length of NH-7 in Rajasthan to be covered under NHDP is 579 km.
