Foundation stone laid for ICD at Mandideep

By A Business Correspondent

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh recently laid the foundation stone for the inland container depot proposed at Mandideep. The Rs 5 crore complex will be developed jointly by Concor and the Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation over 3,000 acres of land along the Indore-Bhopal rail link. The ICD is expected to become operational within a year.
Though MP already has two ICDs at Indore and Gwalior, only Mandideep ICD would have direct railway link. The ICD will have a full length railway siding, paved area of 18,000 sq. mt for handling and stacking of containers, completely covered modern warehouse for aggregation and distribution of cargo, administrative building for customs, shipping lines, customs house agents and others.
