Shasun Chemicals seeking partner

Shasun Chemicals Ltd is in talks with a US-based company for technology in the field of biotechnology. If the talks are fruitful, the company plans to set up a biotech facility in the country. The facility would develop products based on fermentation and bio-catalysis. The company has also tied up with the Jawaharlal Nehru University for development of a bio-pharmaceutical product.
SCL is also adding two more synthetic labs during the year by incurring capex of Rs 6-7 crore. In all the company has earmarked a budget of Rs 40 crore for R&D during the next three years.
