Centre in a hurry to sell SCI

With all the bidders for Shipping Corporation of India Ltd completing their due diligence, the disinvestment process of the company has entered the second stage. During this stage, June 11 to 25, bidding for the shipping major will commence and the successful bidder will be announced on June 26.
Earlier, the government had planned to mop up Rs 800 crore by disinvesting its stake in the company but buoyancy in SCI's share price has encouraged the former to, reportedly, target Rs 1,400 crore from the sale.
