Japanese aid for Manipur hospital
Japan has proposed a grant of 100 million yen for construction of a 100-bed women's and children's hospital in Imphal, Manipur. Another 100 million yen for infrastructure development would also be provided. The Japanese government has chosen the site at old district hospital in the city for the construction of the hospital.

Kerala SEB to raise Rs 400 cr.
The Kerala State Electricity Board plans to raise Rs 400 crore through a bond issue. A major portion of the funds raised would be used for providing new connections and developing infrastructure in the state. KSEB already owes Rs 4,400 crore by way of debts.

HP gets Rs 27 cr. for power
The Union government has sanctioned Rs 27 crore under the Accelerated Power Development Programme for the Hamirpur Circle in Himachal Pradesh. This would enable quality power supply in Hamirpur and Jawalamukhi areas.

Green Park project in Orissa
The Thapar Group of Companies has reportedly agreed to take up the eco-friendly Green Park Project near Jaganath Sagar in the state of Orissa. Work on the project is likely to commence within a couple of months.

Rail electrification delayed
The last leg of railway electrification work in Jharkhand has been held up due to the state government's delay in issuing a no objection certificate to Damodar Valley Corporation for the Muri-Bandamunda-Hatia rail section. This is a part of the Rs 269 crore Bokaro-Muri-Hatia-Bondamunda-Bimlagarh-Kiriburu/Barsua and Purulia-Kotshila railway line electrification project, which was scheduled for completion in March 2002.
