ONGC introduces ISC technology

By A Business Correspondent

ONGC has for the first time in India implemented In-Situ Combustion (ISC) Technology at its Mehsana oil field to enhance oil recovery in the field. The company has reportedly spent Rs 165.34 crore on ISC which has resulted in half a million tonnes of incremental oil production. In other words, ONGC has been able to recover more than what it had invested in the technology. It is expected that oil production from Mehsana fields would triple from the current level of 13 per cent to 40 per cent as a result of this new technology.
