BHEL to refurbish drilling rigs



BHEL has bagged a Rs 229 crore Renovation and Modernisation (R&M) of oilfield equipment contract for refurbishment of on-land drilling rigs from ONGC Ltd. The order envisages refurbishment and upgradation of 12 onshore oil rigs in the country and is to be completed in 18 months. ONGC and BHEL had recently signed a MoU for supply, upgradation and refurbishment of oilfield equipment, for onshore and offshore applications. The agreement also covers a wide range of equipment for oil and gas exploration, production and related activities. BHEL has supplied 84 rigs in the country, 70 to ONGC and the balance to Oil India Ltd.
