Thane-Ghodbunder Road fully operational by year-end

By A Business Correspondent

MSRDC has taken up the widening and upgradation of Thane-Ghodbunder Road (Maharashtra SH-42) in three phases. The road begins at chainage 497/00 of NH-8 and ends at NH-3/4 near Kapurbawadi.

Seventy per cent of the work on phase III (Rs 9 crore) has been completed. Crescent Construction is carrying out the only remaining work on this phase, the Chenna Creek Bridge, which is estimated to cost Rs 2.5 crore. The company aims to commission the project by this year-end.

The first phase of the road project was completed in June 2000. The second phase with a project outlay of Rs 21 crore was taken up in four packages, of which the third package was completed in December 2001 and the fourth package was completed in March 2002.
