Hercules Mechanical Works, established in Thane in 1960, is one of the leading manufacturers of material handling equipment. The firm started with manufacturing of worm gear chain pulley block, travelling trolley and H.O.T. crane. However, over the years the company has increased its product range manifold. It manufactures EOT cranes ranging from 1-100 tonnes and also special types of material handling equipment as per customer requirements. The company also manufactures flame proof and sparkless design wire rope hoist. The company's products are sold under the 'Elephant' brand.
