Rain water conservation in Jabalpur
By A Business Correspondent
Unlike the "rail rooks" and "road rokos" which cause inconvenience to the common people, Jabalpur's "Pani Roko Abhiyan" (Save Water Campaign) has a noble aim-conserving Madhya Pradesh's scarce water resources of the state.
The Rs 23 crore plan envisages the development of 26,330 water conservation centres. Of this more than 23,000 conservation centres will be located in the rural areas. The conservation centres will be developed at the block level. In the Jabalpur block the conservation centre will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.20 crore. Similarly, Rs 1.47 crore, Rs 2.53 crore and Rs 2.2 crore would be spent on developing conservation centres in Panagar, Shahapura and Mazholi blocks, respectively.
