Rural godowns planned

The Orissa government plans to spend Rs 4.2 crore on construction of market yards and rural godowns in Koraput, Balangir and Kalahandi districts. This scheme is aimed at benefiting two lakh farmers. The government has submitted a proposal to the Centre for approval. The godowns will have adequate storage facility and other infrastructure. The Centre will be expected to bear 90 per cent of the project cost and the balance by the state government.
