Lafarge to set up Greenfield unit

By A Business Correspondent

International cement major Lafarge India is steadily increasing its presence in the eastern part of the country. After acquiring existing capacities it plans to set up a Greenfield unit in West Bengal. A site in one of Damodar Valley Corporation's thermal unit has been located and a MoU for consuming the entire flyash generated from DVC's thermal plant at Mejia has been signed. The new unit would consume the entire fly ash generated by the plant. Lafarge is expected to start work ahead of another thermal unit becoming operational.
