Sesimology Institute in Gujarat



The Union Government plans to set up a seismology institute at Ahemedabad in Gujarat. The first of its kind in the country, the National Institute of Seismology would be devoted to carry out research in the field of earthquake. The plan is in the final stage and the work on the institute will start soon. The entire project will cost about Rs. 140 crores, and funded largely be by the department of science and technology.
