Solar energy plants in Rajasthan
The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation is keen to set up 38 10-kw stand-alone SPV power plants, one in each of the 38 non-electrified villages in the state. The plants would come up on EPC-cum-O&M basis on a seven-year contract basis. The corporation has invited bids for the Rs 12.5 crore work by November 12. Each application has to be substantiated with Rs 1,000 as tender cost and Rs 1 lakh per plant.

Biomass units in Kerala
The Agency for Non-Conventional Energy & Rural Technology, a Government of Kerala undertaking, has invited applications for the establishment of biomass based power plant in various parts of the state. According to ANERT studies, the total potential of all talukas of the state for producing power from such sources is 35 mw on a commercial basis. Biomass sources include agriculture residues, coconut rachis, stem, husk and shell, cashew shell, rubber tree slaughtering, arecanut rachis and stem, tapioca stem, rice husk etc.
