DSP upgrades steel furnace

Durgapur Steel Plant, a unit of the Steel Authority if India Ltd (SAIL) has recently commissioned the upgraded blast furnace 3 at a cost of Rs. 205 crore. The furnace has the potential to produce more than 6,000 tonnes of hot metal per day. The volume of the furnace has also been increased from 1323 cu.m. to 1400 cu.m.
