State highway in Punjab to be commissioned soon
The Punjab Infrastructure Development Board is all set to commission the Rs 70 crore four-laning project of the Ropar-Nawanshahr-Phagwara state highway this month. The project is being executed by the Tantia-SPML and BSC-C&C combine.
With this, the Rs 23 crore Gurdaspur-Mukerian road and the Rs 12 crore bridge over river Suan will also be opened to traffic in July and the Rs 52 crore Jagraon-Nakodar road will become motorable in September.
In October, the Chandigarh-Ludhiana Toll Road Co. Ltd, promoted by PIDB, will inaugurate the Rs 130 crore, 80-km Chandigarh-Ludhiana National Highway. Feedback Ventures are the consultants to the project. The Dubai-based Apex International along with PBIL and Bhumi-HIWAY consortium are executing the project.
Besides, in June 2004, the Rs 85 crore road stretch between Khanna and Nawanshahr will also be opened to traffic.
