NCL Prefab: Lightweight, long life
By A Staff Reporter
NCL Prefab is a division of NCL Industries, a company belonging to NCL group set up in 1979. The company's manufacturing unit is located at Jeedimetla, Hyderabad. Apart from prefabricated housing systems, the company also manufactures Portland cement, cement bonded particleboard and pre-laminated cement bonded particles board.
NCL has developed its prefab housing systems by using Bison Panel. The company uses 10, 12 and 16 mm Bison panel as basic material for wall panels and roof.
The prefab housing systems are mainly used in farmhouses, dwelling houses, row houses, project houses, custom-made houses, rest houses, guest houses, hill resorts, store sheds, penthouses, security cabins, mobile check-posts, industrial sheds, disaster housing, defense barracks, school buildings and many more. Office quarters for Reliance Petroleum staff, guest house for Sanghi Industries in Hyderabad, office building for Arvind Mills in Ahmedabad, hill resort at Kodaikanal and a four-storey school building in Pune are some of the projects undertaken by the company using this technology.
These kind of houses are more suitable to earthquake prone areas and extreme climatic conditions like deserts, heavy snowfall areas, heavy rainfall areas and hilly areas. Easy to transport and, install (doesn't need skilled labour) and lightweight needing very little foundation work are some of the advantages of these prefabricated building systems. Prefab Housing Systems can also be used to enhance existing constructions, where the existing structure cannot withstand the load of additional construction.
