Bihar to set up golf clubs at Gaya and Rajgir
PM News Bureau
To boost tourism in the state, the Bihar government will develop two golf courses in Gaya and Rajgir in Nalanda district. The government has identified 135 acres of land at Gaya on Sherghati road at Tekuna Farm and 50 acres of land at Rajgir for setting up the golf clubs.
The decision to establish golf courses in Bihar was taken following a recent meeting between the consulate-general of Thailand and the state chief secretary. A large number of tourists from Japan, Korea, Thailand, China, Sri Lanka and other Asian countries are keen to see golf courses developed in Gaya and Rajgir. The district magistrates of both places have submitted the blueprints for the projects, identifying sites for the golf courses, to the chief secretary. The projects would be given out to private parties on "pay and use basis" system.
